Audi has already produced five million systems quattro

 Audi announced today the production of five million units of its all-wheel drive quattro technology launched in 1980. The quattro system marks this milestone was mounted on A6 allroad 3.0 TDI manufactured in Neckarsulm.

"This number demonstrates the pioneering role in Audi AWD systems. No other builder in the world can claim such high sales volume in models with AWD or show a range with more than 140 versions, "says  Audi in a statement.

Audi quattro debuted this technology in 1980.

The most "spicy" version of the Audi A3 , the Audi S3 Sportback is scheduled to debut in next edition of the Geneva Motor Show, Audi announced.

According to preliminary information the Audi S3 Sportback uses the 2.0 TFSI engine with 300 hp and 380 Nm (additional 35 hp and 30 Nm than its predecessor) associated with Quattro AWD system and manual gearbox or six-speed dual-clutch S tronic seven speeds.

Figures released by the Audi for the Audi S3 Sportback point to acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5 seconds and top speed (limited to) 250 km / h. The average consumption announced is 7 l/100 km.

The Geneva Motor Show, in Switzerland, is the first major motor show of the year in Europe. It follows from 4-17 March.

Audi increases sales by 16.3%

Audi sold 111,750 vehicles in January, 16.3% more than in the same period of 2012. The brand also reported that last month registered the best year beginning in the company history in the U.S market..


The Audi sales increased in January in China, 38.5% to 37,678 units, compared with January 2012.
In turn, increased deliveries in the U.S., also last month, 7.5% to 10,056 units. In the same period, sales in Europe rose 8.6% to 49,900 units.

The sales director of the German manufacturer, Luca de Meo said that "despite the general poor economic situation in some European countries is challenging, and we have the beginnings of a very successful year in all regions of the world."
